When parents bring their students to college their journey is just beginning and HERE is where we want every Jayhawk to thrive. In addition to providing the best student living experience in Lawrence, HERE Kansas strives to be an active member of the community. In September 2017, the leasing team hosted a blood drive with the American Red Cross. With doors open to everyone, they were able to collect blood from over 50 people to support Las Vegas, central Texas and more places around the United States affected by disaster and tragedy.
On February 25th, the resort style pool will host a Polar Bear Plunge with Kansas Special Olympics for over 300 students, staff and local residents. What is a Polar Bear Plunge, you ask? Brave souls will raise money by “plunging” into icy water in the middle of winter – for some it is a winter tradition! The funds raised help Kansans with intellectual disabilities achieve greatness in inclusive communities across Kansas. The Polar Plunge is a unique experience with music, food, and most of all fun.

Later this year, the Kansas team is preparing for two different events with Lawrence Humane Society and the Undergraduate Anthropology Association at The University of Kansas to set up a shoe drive in the leasing office.
